Quick update:

After a rocky summer of betrayal and pain, Lukie and I are back together. and happy, for the most part. She still has a long way to go in terms of getting my trust back, tho. We went on a nice date on tuesday. back to an old favorite, Il Fornello for dinner. I still feel a little wierd sometimes, a bit angry, but it feels right for the first time in a while and I dont regret getting back together.

I'm working at compuSmart in the eaton centre, which is actually kinda fun. Fits my personality :P

Comp is back in business with the addition of a low cost video card, (an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro from James. Merci beaucoup once again, James.) with a new mobo and CPU to follow suit. so we must have a LAN SOON!

Back to school soon which is cool... but at the same time now that I'm back together with Lukie it also sucks to leave
All for now

Revenge of the Sith worked out very well. It is as interesting as it is entertaining. It is Lucas' saving grace, and ties the two trilogies together very well.

For starters, I thought all the major complaints that the bad reviews brought up were total garbage. EXCEPT for the dialog... but that was actually ok MOST of the time. Only one scene that I was actually unhappy with it(oh man... the first sequence where anakin and padme were alone... terrible). And let us rejoice! Jar Jar didnt have a single line. It comes down to the truth which is that, the dialog was just fine. In fact ROTS did have some really great lines and moments of discussion. like Padme's "So this is how liberty dies, to thunderous applause." or the whole sequence where it is first learned by the jedi that Palpatine is Darth Sidious.

Also, by powers I do not comprehend, perhaps by channeling the dark side, Hayden Christensen actually did a pretty decent job in this movie. There wasnt a single cast member that i thought actually did a poor job of the material. Natalie Portman especially was /surprisingly/ convincing in the later scenes when anakin begins to fall. Ian McDairmid was fantastic as Palpatine really giving the slithering, scheming evil of the character justice. especially if you take into account he wasnt the original Emperor from the original trilogy (recasting is hard to do)

The plot was well done and I felt like it actually made episode 2 look better when as taken as a whole. Episode 1 does still suck but everyone is allowed one mistake :P. The way they portrayed Anakins fall was well written and believeable, that palpatine would use padme's death as leverage. Also that Anakin doesnt just accept his new behavior. It disturbs him as much as it does the council. I also thought that the scene where Mace Windu dies was very well done in that you could see why anakin was confused.

From a Star Wars geek perspective it was well done as well i liked the forshadowing of lines of dialog and images. I liked how you could begin to see the technology begin to look more and more like Imperial technology of A New Hope. Jedi starfighters in particular bearing the front octagonal viewport and vertical s-foils of the infamous TIE fighters of later. Heh in a subtle touch that i didnt even notice until Jon pointed it out: the droid army alarm sound is the same alarm you hear on the star destroyers' bridge in ANH. other geek points: The battle above Coruscant was stunning. so much detail and intensity. The lightsaber fights were amazingly well choreographed. Lastly Order 66 and the extermination of the Jedi was shown well. It actually managed to get to me :P "Those poor padawan younglings!"

Lastly to be blunt as always the musical score was awesome. John Williams' still got it!

All the stuff lifted the movie to a level rivalling Return of the King in my mind for intensity, emotional attachment, and overall entertainment.

Great!

yep its that time of year again folks: time for............

--MY QUARTERLY RECAP!--

no job

little money.

worked as a poll clerk during the federal election that was actually surprisingly fun. heh but too much authority for David to be responsible : P j.k. almost had to kick a guy out tho... causing a disturbance: "Right to vote DE-NIED!" or "NO VOTE FOR YOU!" or somthing to that effect. well not exactly. it didn't come to that, thankfully he shut up after i just threatened to.

summer good so far seeing Lukie and all my friends

saw steven, good to hear from him

STILL NO LAN... sigh that sucks

as of July 5th im 19 so yeah... now i can legally drink here too... uh...w00t!
...still havent exercised that right but whatever

Shit, for my birthday Lukie got me some cool stuff from ThinkGeek.com -awesome site. com'on how cool is a duct tape wallet that never peels or gets sticky with a life-time gaurantee? she also got me a LAN party shirt heh so now im set... if only we could have one : P (Jon... Aaron(who doesnt read this... oh well) im looking in your direction.) I'd host it myself except my internet is garbage.

so yeah my mom hates me now cus she insists that i cant find a job cus i suck.. well whatever

I've been creating a game in Flash, to sharpen my coding and, well, to keep it sharp. The Legend of Zelda: Homage Quest is the name. as the title suggests, its a homage to the famous Nintendo Series "The Legend of Zelda". It is, i must point out, a new adventure, not just a remake of one of the games. Anyways.... i'm up to my ears in the dungeon creation...

Link(the main character of the series - for those non-zelda-playing people) can shoot arrows and drop bombs... its good stuff... not to mention his sword of evil's bane!

found some goods sounds for it... and the real soundtrack!

I'll post a link(in more ways than one - bad pun quota filled) when thats done... been pretty fun so far.

heh... moms going away for the weekend so... heh... have my house to myself.... good times

on the thirtieth it looks like ill be heading back to--> la ville de Montréal pour trouver un appartement (to find an apt)

woah look how good i am at using altavista's translator!!!

anyways ill be back from that on the first of August.

i have a good friend for a roommate so it should be fun. (snooty McGill bastard)

some might be shocked to learn that i have been barely playing any games at all... just a bit of the Perimeter demo, for the PC (awesome game) and a bit of Super Smash Bros. Melee and Timesplitters2 for the Cube.

I have been, for the first time in a while, thinking of making some strategic purchases of games... but with the short cash, gotta make 'em count
been thinking of SSX3 and Metroid Prime or 007 Everything or nothing all for the GC.

Hope All are Well, Ciao...
